Our mission here at Calvary Chapel Bay Area Fellowship  is to live an authentic life in connection with God, one another and the world through Jesus by loving God and loving others.

We seek to accomplish this mission through our vision: to SAVE the lost, EQUIP the saved, SERVE the lost and saved and SEND the equipped.

1. SAVE the lost.

We have a strong desire to help people who are lost in sin find salvation, forgiveness and restoration through accepting Jesus’ sacrifice for their sin on the cross. In Mark 16:15 Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” This command is to everyone who believes in Jesus. We share the gospel with as many people as we can. And we are committed to helping and training each follower of Jesus at Calvary Chapel Bay Area Fellowship to effectively articulate the gospel and their personal testimony. We teach and practice evangelism as a regular lifestyle, not just a special event.

2. EQUIP the saved.

We place a large emphasis on equipping believers. In Ephesians 4:11-12 “Jesus Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” One of the main roles of church leadership is to equip Christians to go and do the work of ministry.

A large part of what we do as a church is designed to equip and train each believer to grow in their relationship with Jesus and to discover the gifts He has given them and the ways He desires them to use those gifts for His glory. One of the best things God has given to help equip us is the Bible. We strongly hold to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Since the Bible is wholly and perfectly inspired by God and is profitable for us in every way, we put a huge priority on teaching, training and equipping people through the study and application of God’s Word. In our services we teach chapter by chapter and verse by verse through the entire Bible.

3.  SERVE the lost and the saved.

Service to others is a priority to our Calvary Chapel Bay Area Fellowship family. Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 20:26-28, “Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” In our world those who serve are not often esteemed, but Jesus considers them to be great. Jesus not only instructed us to serve - He demonstrated it in His own life by setting the example of serving, even to the extent of sacrificing His own life.

Jesus didn't just serve those who loved Him - He also served those who rejected and hated Him. At Calvary Chapel Bay Area Fellowship we put a strong emphasis on serving those in the church and the lost in our area as well. We provide opportunities for each believer to use their gifts to serve the body of Christ and we facilitate service in the community and city that meets both spiritual and practical needs.

4.  SEND the equipped.

Sending believers into other communities, cultures and countries to share the gospel, make disciples and plant churches is very important at Calvary Chapel Bay Area Fellowship. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus commanded His followers, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” This is an imperative that we take very seriously.

As believers are equipped in our church, it is our desire to send them into our community, city, other cities and other countries to share the gospel, make disciples and plant churches. Our fellowship values sending capacity over seating capacity. We aim to grow the kingdom of God as a whole and not just our individual church.
